The research and art of making a new model is a process that has been going on for millennia. The timely perfection of beauty and reflection of our interior dimensions are processes that are woven into the fabric of human kind. Meditating on such notions has spurred the jeweller Antonino Farruggio to create new works of art. These are at the forefront of its genre and are thus the latest additions of form and symbol to be captured in the book of history.

The Phoenicians, 1200 a.c. whose name is derived from the colour of their purple dye, built a society based on military capability, shipping and commerce. The latter was in great part funded on their production of dyes and textiles, together with a multitude of handicrafts. It is here that the first seeds of goldsmithing were sown in the Mediterranean. Rings were made with such symbols as a scribe, the fountain of wisdom. The representations of divinities like Tanit, the female symbol of prosperity. The gold necklace, an emblem of calm. The eye of Horon to keep one safe from the poison of snakes and superstitious thematic. This, a world buried maybe not so deep underneath our modern technological life.
